As i watch my self sail away…I leave all my troubles behind me..
floating through a void of time…but somehow you remind me…
drifting through space..not knowing where to stop…
my thoughts cross your memory and fill me to the top…
salt water smell gulls above how could someone lose so much love…
my thoughts are rooted to the ground yet I’m floating here never to be found …spinning at time and wondering if ill make it across….
days turn into nights and nights years…
who knew there would be so many fears ..what to do when to do it if I should can i get through it..
a bunch of idle thoughts cross my head…
is that land i see up ahead? purple mists and turquoise fogs..
hovering upon me in distant bogs….
the cry of gulls the salt in the air…
who ever said our trip in this life was fair?
looking down tiny bubbles on the water an interesting life funny how some don’t bother…
and if you look through the smoke you might see a tiny glint of hope…sparkling into your soul…
it may even make you full..
but for some like me..its not enough..so many questions and unanswered riddles ooh this water is getting rough…
theres the moon..I saw it above me..
the stars raining down they’re empire upon me…
the cool air making my fading hair dance…
once again I slip into a trance…
my mind goes a million ways at once..
how can i pinpoint my direction within all theses stunts…
velvet ink paints my sky…as i drift up up and fly..
i cant feel myself anymore…I’m so far from home…
this vortex of time..is all that is on my mind…
the laughter of children the honking of horns.
I wouldn’t go back for a million or more…
rich or poor means nothing out here..
its more of a sight sense smell and taste kinda deal….
up or down you end up the same…
hahah you didn’t know this life was a game?
your fortune and fame cars and jewels cant help you now did someone say “Fools”
salty air licks my skin…oooh I’m feeling so thin..
not like the models and not like your girl more like i have nothing left to hurl….
beautiful sights are all around greens and blues and purples and browns….
sand earth water and fire..
those are the things which will take you higher…
believe what you will as I drift along humming some sort of song which i cant remember as its been to long and the sounds are being continuously drawn up my mind etched in time sealing this moment..
almost refined..like a fine wine I once had…
too faded now as I’m too high to come back..
all i know is the wind at my back..
so sail along sailor in your moment of bliss with this endless mist….
the sun is back i forgot how it felt…so warm so pure.. don’t cry this was the hand i was dealt…i loved playing every card of it..
for when you love it really isn’t that hard..
perhaps you fought tooth and nail they say…not I, I began drifting in the bay..and look where it got me so far from home with nothing but this moment in time so I keep moving intertwined with salt and sand and fire and sky….if you cant feel don’t even try..its something you have
And this is the Real Me
How easy it is
to forget who we are & why we are here. To close your eyes & not realize the importance of this time..
Space is all around us- yet we never are aware of it. We take credit for things unattainable to man.
We lose chromosones, yet gain intelligence, the need is great to see with a clear eye. To ponder our
many great Mysteries is to be free. To demand answers, although at times may seem irrational, but it is
the most rational thing to do. Expand our thinking to planes we have never seen. Open your mind
exposure of the unknown is best it keeps your brain fresh and ready to accept new ideas as they are
presented to you. We are all given many oppurtunities to awaken each & every day follow your heart,
but trust your mind & respect your intuition.
The vision of our world is changing, a struggle for power ensues.
A desperate clutch for domination prevails.
In the midst of this self inflicted chaos, remain still, unmoved & ever changing.
Feel the fresh, pure waters as you wake.
Hone your mind and simplify your choices. Clear the ashes, and reveal the anew.
Follow your heart to the edge of the neverending time- for this is your path.
Hear the swift flight-see the glistening sun- Feel Life
For this is a your dream, live a blissful one.
Do not choose an eternal nightmare.
Awaken~Remember why you came here.
The connection is clear. There is no dividing line between us, we all want the same things. To be safe in our homes, to stay with our loved ones, to be healthy, to have the freedom of existance.
This man is a Bloody Hero!
Gardening is in my blood, it’s in the blood of all of us actually. Since we came here we have been planting, watering, pulling, harvesting, etc.. Look at this deliciously wonderful looking raspberry! Fresh from my garden…first one to ripen so far this year. There is definitely something special about growing anything really, even more so when its food you can eat. A variety of things can be grown rather effortlessly with little or no maintenance. Raspberries, strawberries, peppers, onions, herbs..all of these edibles are easily grow and are wonderful to have on hand.
As I look out of the passenger window, noticing the sparkling suns rays upon freshly bloomed flowers, I think to myself, another funeral?
Yesterday my nonna died, nonna is the Italian term for grandmother. It is very pleasing to me that my daughter was able to enjoy years of togetherness with her great grandmother, something most of us will never get to experience.
We were never extremely close, however I can’t help but feel a chapter in my heritage has come to a close.
During my childhood her home was a hub of activity, my entire family went there every Sunday for our family lunch. At this time children would be playing and running around the back and front yards. The parents constantly “on watch” to make sure we weren’t stirring up too much trouble, ha ha.
My nanny and nonno had the most amazing garden, after all we were Calabrese from Cosenza(well known for having amazing gardens that could feed a whole neighborhood) during harvest season if you walked up the long driveway towards the garden you could see a giant and I mean giant metal pot simmering huge batches of fresh tomato sauce…tomatoes fresh from our nannies garden! It was almost magical. I’ve always been drawn to the independence of growing your own food.
Then we had our grapes! In September when I was about 10 you could find my nonno and I in the basement pressing grapes the “old fashioned way” with a traditional grape press… The kind you walk around holding a bar that would slowly squish the fragrant blue grapes. We also had giant bottles down there we used to ferment the grape mixture into wine. I remember learning how to siphon the wine with a hose like tube… Believe me getting red wine up your nose at age 10 was no treat like it may have been if I did it now ha ha. We also made our own home made sausages, marinated olives, bread and many other delicious family traditional foods.
Having said this you might have a clearer picture of Italian peoples important things in life, firstly being Family, and Food has always brought us closer together.
So take interest in your culture, ask questions, get answers, keep in touch and keep your heritage alive, for when the rocks in your family leave this earth you will always keep your values and heritage till the end of your days.
